1차 세계 대전중에
벨기에에 상륙한.

영국군과 독일군이
끝이 보이지 않는
전쟁을 수행하던 중에...

크리스마스(X - Mas)를 맞게 되었습니다.


피와 공포로
얼룩진 전장터에서도...

크리스마스(X - Mas)는
특별한 의미였나 봅니다.


대치하고 있던
독일군이 자신들의 참호 주변을 장식하고...

크리스마스(X - Mas)
캐롤을 부르기 시작했습니다.



그때
불렀던 곡이 " Stille Nacht... "

우리는
" Silent Night "라고
알고 있는 노래입니다.


이에
영국군인들도
" 화답가 "로...

" Oh Holy Night "
부르기 시작 했습니다.


언어는 다르지만
모두가 한마음으로...

노래를
함께 부르게 되었습니다.


곧이어 상호간의
" 크리스마스( X - Mas) 날 "
잠시 휴전을 맺고.

" No Man's Land "
(대치하고 있는 양진영간의 완충지대 : 우리나라의 DMZ와 비슷)에서....

만나서 서로에게
전할 선물을 교환하게 됩니다.

추운
겨울 날씨에도.

몸을 데퍼 줄...
" 위스키ᆞ빵ᆞ초콜릿 ᆞ쨈ᆞ기타 "

드물지만
어떤 이들은
서로의 주소를 교환하고.

대포 1잔도...
함께 나누었다고 전해집니다.

그리고
그날밤은
더 이상 포성이 들리지 않았다고 전해집니다.
